As for why i say THANKFULLY she was back on the same night wasn't about the part where she was OK after the lumbar puncture but more about the whole entire process that made me angry. My mom checked in in the morning as told by the doctor and had to wait the whole morning at the admissions dept for a bed space. While waiting they fed her terrible smelling lunch(hospital food)....their chicken smell like it wasn't cleaned properly...yes...i'm not kidding and those solid rice that my mom couldn't stand. My mom wanted to go out makan while waiting at the admissions dept but they refuse to let her go eat even though they don't have a bed for her -.-''' She only got a bed assigned at 2pm after much complains by my mom's colleague even though my mom was a staff at the hospital.
Then she was moved to wad 10 (gynae ward) because they have an empty bed there and they did her lumbar puncture there. we got a call informing us that she was moved to ward 10 while we were waiting for Juli(right...forgot to say my housemate came to stay for a weekend) to arrive from uni. Then about half an hour later, they called to say that my mom is now moved to ward 5(the neuro ward which she was supposed to be in the first place) and she was ready to be discharged. I was like WHAT? she just got a lumbar puncture and u want her to leave the hospital? so when Juli arrived...we went to the hospital to see for ourselves what was really happening .
When i reached ward 5, first thing i did was to check my mom's name on the board but it was not there. So i asked a nurse and she pointed me to a small room.So i went there to find my mom on a bed awake(lying flat as asked by the doctor) in guess what.......A STOREROOM! WTF! they put my mom in a storeroom....of all places. They shouldn't have admitted her in if they don't have place la....stupid ppl. Only when we reach they say my mom can be discharged at 11pm, so we left and makan before coming back to check my mom out of the STOREROOM just because they have no bed....and the doctor previously said she needs to live there 4 days...-.-'''
When my mom checked out, they didn't offer a wheelchair.....and i couldn't even find a nurse between 7pm and 8pm to bring the potty for my mom to urinate....i had to go get it myself. They were most of the time no where to be seen. When my mom checked out...only 2 nurses were working...can u imagine? my mom asked the nurses why nobody was around at 7pm to 8pm... they say all went to eat -.-''' imagine if someone were to die at that time .
Surprisingly my mom is just like normal la...she talks as loud....cooks as good and her mandarin is as crappy as ever...LOL! so don't worry, she's fine :) besides the diagnosis of a shrinking brain which is the equivalent of an 85 year old's brain. Perhaps mentally she's ok...but physically she is abit wobbly....now she's got a new excuse to nag and annoy me :) So its back to class now....while the worrying continues as more checks and tests are done....
