All in a days work

Been tremendously busy lately. As of today, did somemore research on my FYP, bought an accoustic guitar, learned to tune it, registered to vote for the next election, changed my furniture position in my room, dabled abit of webdesign, Mac-ed my Dell and now I'm working from home as a script translator.

With my rusty Chinese and Malay, I work almost every hour of my awake time at home translating Chinese to malay for those Chinese sitcoms u watch on TV2. Freaking boring but no doubt its an interesting job. Improves my *ahem*still fluent BM eventhough i've never exactly used full sentences after i finished my SPM karangan paper.The only use for 11 yrs of BM previously was for ordering food in mamak....LOL! I'm not kidding.

While doing this job, i learned to appreciate parts in drama or movies where they have still shots or slow moving ppl with background music because that means i dont need to translate so much...LOL. I hate argue scenes. Damn alot to type.I shall appreciate translators more from now on as an average 1 hour drama can take me a day to translate -.-''' perhaps its my rusty chinesela...oh well they're now even using chinese scripts for malay dramas,thats where my job comes in.Never knew about that.

So to those translators who translated "Pembunuh Bijirin" for serial killer, you guys are damn funny la....

What Luck!

First it was my handphone not reading my minisd card (which does not ring or beep when call is received) then after that it starts shutting down on its own whenever i picked up calls or make them. As if thats not bad enough that i have to rely on mainly the msn and my house phone to connect to the world.....now of all things, my housephone had gone silent.

I can bear with my cacat-ed handphone but it kills when i dont have my internet.Must be because the idiot just reconnected the line and not change it the other time when the wire got rusty even after pleading with him outside.Thank god there's this open connection somewhere behind my house with a very low signal thats only traceable with my laptop......so now...then next best thing is to steal their wifi.Manage to make a complain through the internet...hopefully those TmNUT will reply ASAP!

Oh ya...and my opposite neighbors house almost got broke in today at 5 am.Thankfully for my left side neighbors maid who peeked out of the house and on the house lights....the robbers got on their bikes and left. Imagine they were so careful they pushed their bikes to the gate and attempted to climb in through the gate....unfortunately my *ahem* Keh Poh attentive neighbor is always the first to detect all these stuff. The other time she even saw a skinny guy trying to squeeze through the iron grills on the main door to steal stuff.....gosh...that man must be really stick thin.Even Victoria Beckham would have been jealous.

Somehow i'm surprised the robber didnt rob my rightside neighors house with the nissan skyline(expensive leh) or my most irritating neighbor(the one with the mazda sportscar that is quite damaged.once it was the gearbox where he had to push his sportscar out of the gate...LOL! then now its the detached bumper) with a fleet of cars(3 ppl, 5 cars) but staying in a teres house who's definately got a plasma and big speakers but a fuckingly annoying attitude and enjoys taking up every other persons parking privileges outside the house.

They even got the cheek to park right outside our main door once when they had barbecue...without even asking for permission.Oh ya...and the other time when someone stole all 4 of his tires and smashed his windscreen...i was soo happy that day.There was even once he got his car sprayed with red paint, he got so scared, he pasted a piece of paper saying he doesn't owe anyone money....funny right?

Sigh.....neighbor like this is a pain in the ass.They should get a bungalow or something then can park anywhere they want la...with an attitude like that, no wonder no one talks to them.I bet if someone robbed their house....no one would even bother.

Its funny how i can be physically exhausted but mentally alert.Just got back from a long chat with the gals (and ZL) from PSG(primary school gang) at island cafe. Imagine we sat there for 4 hours......we were there at close to 11pm and we left just after 3am. I bet my mom's gonna ask what time i got back tomorrow....perhaps just avoid la...what to do. Wake up early for breakfast then wont get any complain :)

Been having insomnia for the past few days.Will be turning and tossing for hours without really going to sleep. Then early in the morning I'd be staring at the ceiling....Damn "fan zhin(犯贱)" la....got chance to sleep cannot sleep. Better learn to shut down my brain to sleep especially when hibernate doesn't work.

Had a long and great chat. Its the experiences that build character but it is also ego that make or break you. Sounds simple....but always hard to implement. Lost of control might spell doom , but if failure is not an option, then face your fear. Somehow, it is you who makes your own decision....present choice , future outcome. Dont be blinded by your heart....u first. everything else later.

Life is fair 有得必有失. I agree totally. Hope i dont see this everyday. Dont quite like the barter system ;) especially in this context.

Holiday-ING

Woah....see how time flies? its already 1 month + gone from my holiday and seriously....i think its moving way too fast.Its like u blink and one second had passed -.-''' haha, yup every second of my holiday counts....even if its damn sien.

Latest update is that I'm still looking for jobs to do since i turned down an internship offer that paid RM400 and mainly because my mom didn't like the location, so in the mean time helping my friend do website design.Hope i get paid reasonably la....being broke is so sad. Mega sale but no money to shop.....sigh...no allowance somemore.Sigh...anyway i should recap what has happened during my absents.

Had a great time during Jamie's birthday....had enough liquor to get me spinning.Had dinner at a korean BBQ restaurant to celebrate Jamie's Bday with Peter and the cyberjaya gang renting a kancil just to join us.It was such a fun celebration, the boss gave us a free bottle of korean so jiu liquor and even had the shop assistance joining in with us when we were singing the birthday song.By then we already consumed 3 small bottles...but it tasted great.

We even went to sanctuary @ the curve to have a second round while taking vodka shots in the ice bar.Had 2 and a half myself...boy was it hot....u could feel it burning in the stomach after that. But it took the whole ride home before i got dizzy.It must have been the coldness of the ice bar that kept us leveled till we got home.Surprisingly...no hangover the next morning.

The next thing was we had a dinner to celebrate G's birthday at 1u the other day. Had dinner at vietnam kitchen and we had a great time chatting about everything from robbery to car jacking to even our trip at Phuket. yup...that trip alone i think we can talk about it for at least a year.Even when we were watching Surf Up....we identified a scene of the beach just like phi phi island...lol....see phuket again.

So far been doing some reading...and watching HOUSE at home. Finally reach season 3 already but still havent completed downloading.Downloads been slow....Streamyx is slow...so all i cna do is wait and wait till its done lor.

I'm back...

Its been one and a half weeks since i got back from phuket.My appologies for not updating sooner but i have been really busy *ahem* and lazy. Time really flies....its already the forth week of my holidays already...and yet, not even half the list of chores i wrote have been completed.*sigh* time to start time management mode.

By now, everyone and I myself is sober from the trip's drinking(with pictures to prove) , met yanzi when she came , saw Zai Zai left for the states and of course settled my cousins wedding.The only unsettled part is my FYP.Been praying that MC wont sms or email me anytime soon coz i've still not completed reading all the methods available.Been so busy enjoying myself that its kinda hard to do literature research when your mood is so perked. I guess from now on...life will go back to its super pace.....should get things done anyway.

Looking back at all those pictures and video's we took during the trip, i'd say its the most i've taken in years. but then those video's are scary.....shall be kept as P&C. My mom would freak out knowing the amount of booze we had consume to get those footage.But its really some memories we had back there.Good memories and of course some not so good for some....anyway, its always things we know that makes us grow stronger.

Will get somewhere to post(Not flickr, too few spots...200 pics? mind you i have at least 400 pics.) the pics and will link it there when i'm done.whats a trip without pictures to share eh?

This trip is to our 10 years of friendship and many more to come. 4 days of vacation a lifetime of memories ;)


btw..bye zai, glad to hear you've arrived in the states safely. Hope u found your luggage :) U might miss Jamie's Bday , but we will see u at Jo's Bday .

alone time

Today have been a rather interesting day. Visited Kenneth's work place today as he took lunch off to accompany me to 1u to deal for the ipod.Met his colleague Claudia who was rather friendly. Then there was the uncle who wasn't exactly an uncle since he look late30's early 40's with 2 kids a wife and a maid on tow.....but gosh....he owns a Mac book PRO!!! sigh....only prob now is that i didn't read that the ipod 3g needs a firewire to charge it.Guess i'll have to go find one before i can start using it.But the things were in great condition and the remote and headphones were superb!

My parents are out for a wedding dinner.Been out of invitation cards for years now.....but i'll be attending a rather rushed wedding dinner of my cousin brother. No need explain also u should be able to guess la....9th June, thats 2 weeks from now leh....he is 29(yup,same age with stefanie sun) and his bride.....i think is 2 years younger than me. Hope they're happyla.....we expected a wedding soon.....but then not this soon. Cant wait to see my parents reaction when they find out...as of now...they're not back from dinner yet..LOL!

Eating Korean noodles with Ronald Cheng's 2007 CNY movie on VCD...super lame and funny.Its good to be at home alone with all the quietness.....so fun.I can finally blast the TV set...ooo....perhaps i could watch Justin's concert VCD later....hmn....good idea. Phone's been ringing off the hook for my parents.Its always like this when they're not around....and i've got to explain why i'm home...sigh.Jaga rumahmar.....what to do.

Haven't packed for my trip yet.Bought my sunblock which cost a fortune.Jamie is sick....hope she gets well real soon...if not she might have probs getting on plane with flu.still cant remember where i placed my travellers pouch...but i'll go look for it again tomorrow.

Finally i can start my holiday.Eventhough my holidays was suppose to start right after my exams on friday, i only had the shortlived 2 days holiday which i squeezed 11 episodes of house and a day out with my roomies....after that it was googling+reading+writing+charting for the next 5 days(which 2 days was spent going to and fro to meet lecturer in UNI) for my F*cking FYP which is not even supposed to start till next sem. Mind u...i'm doing work 4 months in advance.Dunno its good or bad.lets hope it gives me a big big headstart.

After slogging for the past week, here i am with MC as my supervisor and topic called plagiarism detection system. The topic is fine with me , at least i know what i'm doing.Only problem is how am i gonna do it is a problem...but i'll do my best to do it the best i can. I've got another classmate doing the same topic under different lecturer......just hope i can do as well if not better than them :) thank god MC is quite a nice *ahem* lad , so i get 1 week free to enjoy Phuket and of course Stefanie's gig at the curve.ooo....a big thank you to sio ru for the trouble of getting the tix and sorry for not checking with the others if they have the card anot.

Gathering with the I2B58 gang was fun.Girls day out. 1 session of K @ Neway 1u, then a LAME movie called NEXT which we aptly named it AFTER for its sequel(no..thats not the name of the sequel....we just felt it sound better than NEXT2) .Gonna miss all of them for the next 4 months....but i guess everybody will be busy with our own things.Theres always MSN!

Jo discovered a new place(ok..at least for us la) at uptown called Naili's Place. The funny thing is that if u add a L in Naili u'll get Lilian spelt backwards....haha. there's this bald guy there who sings romanized un-decipherable chinese songs with a live band...pretty funny guy i'd say...he tried to mesmerize our table coz we were talking way too loud,haha......he even got Jo to sing Tian Mi Mi on stage......i salute the fella. Oh...not forgetting there was this G.A.Y(i'm sorta 99% sure they are...dont ask why) birthday boy celebrating his bday there yesterday,what an interesting place.

Tomorrow's gonna be an interesting day. I saw this post on ebay yesterday for a 30gb 3g ipod with a dead batt + the remote and headphones for RM119. Being a terrible bidder and a bargain hunter,i smsed the fella with a lower offer.obviously he declined but we striked a deal to meet up at 1u tomorrow for COD and if everything goes well....I'll have a 3g ipod for a portable HD.but in the mean time....we're still figuring how to stop the bidding process so we can deal tomorrow..... but after 3 hours of refreshing my page...the buy it now have not changed...so i guess we shall wait and seela. curious to see how the uncle looks like....so nice fella to buy it for is expecting wife...perhaps he have a 3 years old son by now.

This is what I'm gonna be buying.

I'm finally gonna be doing my laundry tomorrow coz i'm seriously out of clothes since i couldn't find time to wash them last week.must remember to dig for my travelers pouch somewhere in my room tomorrow.Shall ask for an overdraft.....I'm broke. After 2 or more long grueling weeks of stressful + partial insomnia + lifelessness + sucky food prone exam period,i'm glad just to be home.Kinda too tired to blog still....so i'll update on the previous happenings in my following blog later on...till then, happy holidays people!

It's 3AM I must be lonely.....

Nottingham University never sleeps. Me included of course. It doesn't mean u gotta be on campus to not sleep. I was finally home for the weekend after 3 weeks on campus and i've lost 2 KG :) After clocking in 10 hours of sleep on Thursday night, i lived through 3 hours of sleep throughout the weekend to finish my Concurrency assignment. In between i managed to buy a new CD player (which is now in my mom's custody), catch a movie and have a dinner with my friends, postponed a yumcha session with K, lived through a virus scare and finally get my hands on the Stefanie album that Ming has been keeping for me.

Watched 300 the other day in separate seats, felt kinda weird with that arrangement but somehow we forgot that it was a public holiday and at 12 pm we only managed these seats for the 4.10pm session.So better than nothing la. Supposed to register as a voter for the next election by march, but missed it totally coz i forgot Saturday was a holiday....so i guess i wont be voting the next time around. Ate at SOHO in 1utama for dinner.I'd say its so so only....food is average, serving small, atmosphere OK but slightly pricey. Could have been better. But then , in this case, its not the food, atmosphere or place that matters. Its the people I'm with that matters the most and the time spent is worth every cent.

After finally passing up my first assignment for the semester, I've still got 2 individual and 3 group projects on tow.Don't know how I'm gonna make it but I'll somehow have to try my very best to complete everything before the dateline within these two weeks. Still trying to read up on the materials and working out the best solutions for my assignments. The only happy thing I'm gonna have this week is the GOOD FRIDAY public holiday!! but then, its not like its gonna make any difference coz I'll still be stuck in my oven room doing my stupid assignments.

Sitting in the SA(Student association) lounge with air-cond doing my assignment with my roomies can be a real fun thing.Perhaps the FREE pool table nearby is the only exercise i get here nowadays. Still too afraid to go play basketball because theres these weird insects giving ppl the itch, so don't think its nice to be caught scratching right? Guitar lessons are getting more and more fun now.Perhaps I sorta de-stress when i go for classes even though its always very stressful thinking about the class when i don't practice enough. Oh yeah....my Guitar tutor crew cut-ed his hair, something about saving on shampoo ^^"

No class tomorrow but theres meeting to attend.Gonna sleep soon. Night ppl. I'm now nocturnal.
